Communist forces launched a surprise attack on American and south Vietnamese soldiers They attacked the US Embassy in Saigon Vietnam. The TET Offensive will last for three weeks and will be removed from the US Embassy. Johnson and Westmoreland claimed this to be a US victory. Known as the turning point in the war because US confidence was shattered
