Importance:
After Dunkirk, German forces continue to advance through France. On June 14, after a very quick reestablishment of the French government, they evacuate Paris and Declare it an open city. This allows the Germans to enter and causes France to surrender.
Outcome:
Because of the treaty, two-thirds of France is occupied by Germans, the French Army is disbanded, and the French have to bear the cost of the invasion; an underground resistance quickly forms. This is also a blow to the Allied forces.
