jan 1, 1347 - Black Death
Description:
The Black Death was a very big time in Europe because it was one of the biggest pandemics in history. The Black Death was brought to Europe from Asia in October 1347 when 12 ships had docked in the Sicilian port of Messina. The Black Death was believed to have started in the south of the Himalayan mountains in Asia because they would live in close contact with black rats which carried around a bacteria called Yersinia Pestis. The Black Death was stopped by several lockdowns and quarantines similar to the modern-day.
