jan 1, 831 - Magnetic compass
Description:
The magnetic compass was made by the Norwegian Vikings in the 9th century. The Vikings didn’t invent the first compass because that was invented 400 years before the magnetic compass in China. The difference between the two compasses is that the Vikings made it magnetic which is very similar to today’s modern-day compass. These compasses are made from magnetite also known as lodestone which was found all over Scandinavia.
