feb 1, 525 - Anno Domini Calendar Invented

Description:

In 525, a monk named Dionysius Exiguus created the Anno Domini calendar. This calendar is still used today as it started at the year one, when Jesus was born and has continued through to the year 2022, where we are now.
The reason for the invention of a brand new calendar was due to the fact that the last calendar, (the Diocletian era) is named after a tyrant who persecuted Christians. The monk was heavily against the calendar so he decided to create a new one biased around his religion. Eventually the rest of Europe adopted it and has continued to do so to this very day.
