jan 1, 1976 - Minimoog

Description:

The Minimoog was released in stores for general consumption during the 1970s, which led to a rise in development of electronic instruments and synthetic sound machinery. The Minimoog spurred other companies such as ARP and EMS, the latter of which was used by notable artists like Pink Floyd, into joining the synthesizer market only one year after the Minimoog was released. Synthesizers started getting smaller, more efficient, and more accessible as the 1970s progressed. This dramatically impacted the rate which electronic music was produced as the only things you needed to use a Minimoog were a very basic understanding of FM Synthesis and basic piano skills. Unsurprisingly, the Minimoog was the dominant synthesizer of the 1970s as its functionality and portabilitry was sought after by many disco, synth-pop, and other emerging electronic genre artists.
