jan 1, 1982 - MIDI
Description:
In 1982, the Musical Instrument Digital Interface, or MIDI, was invented to create a standard means of synchronizing multiple electronic instruments. This opened up new possibilities as previous limitations on the number of digital instruments prevented synthetic music from achieving what could be done organically. The specifications used for MIDI are still the gold standard of digital isntrumernt synchronization to this day.
