Description:
Canada was born out of a number of conferences and orderly negotiations, reaching the highest of development with the terms of Confederation on July 1st, 1867. The Indigenous people were never asked to join. The Union of British North American colonies of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and the Province of Canada (which is now Ontario and Quebec) was a nation-building exercise and was the first slow but steady steps as well.
Because of the Indigenous and/to the francophone resistance before
and after 1867 has shaped the way we see Canada. The very first Prime Minister was none other than Sir John Alexander Mcdonald.
