jan 1, 993 BC - David's Annointment as King of All Israel

Description:

David was annointed the King of his own tribe, Judah soon after Sauls' death. Ishbaal, one of Saul's sons, however, was crowned King over "all Israel" except the tribe of Judah.

Within less than a decade, the entire house of Saul was eliminated, allowing David to be the King over all of Israel and Judah. The narrative is not explicit about David's involvement in the eradication of Saul's house, yet it is not unlikely that David was the one orchestrated the events behind the scene.

As a King who excelled in music and warfare, David was commonly depicted as the King of Spade as shown in the attached picture, holding a lyre and a Kingly scepter.
