Description:

The War of 1812 was Canada's War of Independence. It was fought between the Americans and the British. The war started off with an attack on Britain by the Americans and plan to invade their colony. The British empire is rooted in a European war, and so the British need to fight for their homeland on their own with the help of Chief Tecumseh of the Shawnee nation. Britain won the war and gained their independence from America. On June 18, 12, the United States attacked the British colony of Canada, though it did not go as planned. The U.S troops weren't experienced enough and were easily beaten by the British. In 1813, things began to turn around for the United States. On September 19, 1813, the U.S won the Battle of Lake Erie. A few weeks after, William Henry Harrison directed the U.S forces as they conquered a large Native American force led by Tecumseh, and in 1814, the British began to fight back. The War of 1812 ended on February 18, 1815.
