After reviewing the many events that passed, President Kennedy made the executive decision that the United States would achieve getting a man to land on the moon before the end of the decade. This would be a "first" for the United States to claim, unlike the previous events, first achieved by the Soviet Union then following that the by US. The project was named Project Apollo
