jun 28, 1914 - Assasination of the Crown Prince

Description:

The Austrian Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and his wife had traveled to Bosnia for a state visit. On their way to the capital city Sarajevo, the couple were almost killed as someone threw a bomb at their car. They diverted from their route which took them in the direction of a 19-year old Black Hand member that finished the job and took their lives. This led directly to the beginning of WWI. Outraged, Austria-Hungary waged war on Serbia, and due to a plethora of allies, almost every world power eventually joined in.
