nov 1, 1910 - The Miners Strike (Tonypandy Riots)

Description:

The strike was for the right to a minimum wage. It was particularly serious in South Wales. It was said that Churchill instructed the shooting of strikers following the incident at Tony Pandy. Things got out of hand with the Strikers and the police force until Churchill had to call for back up, getting armed troops. There was another strike in 1911 January which led to more criticism on Churchill as he insisted in bringing in more armed forces.
