jan 21, 1906 - Victor Talking Machine
Description:
The Victor Talking Machine was an American record company and phonograph manufacturer. They manufactured the ‘Victrola’ in September 1906, it was a new line of talking machines, with the turntable and amplifying horn tucked away inside a wooden cabinet. This was not done to improve audio, but for visual reasons. The idea was to produce a phonograph that looked less like a machine and more like a item of furniture.
