jan 1, 1609 - Geocentric motion of Mars

Description:

After repeatedly failing to explain the motion of Mars in a circular orbit as required under Copernicanism, Kepler succeeded by assuming that the orbit was an ellipse and the Sun was located at one of the foci. A chart of geocentric motion of Mars is published in "Astronomia Nova".
