aug 27, 1894 - Wilson-Gorman Tariff Act
Description:
The Wilson-Gorman Tariff Act decreased the tariff rates that came from the McKinley Tariff Act. This benefited the farmers in the West because protective tariffs such as McKinley’s were in the interests of Eastern industry and ignored the Western interests. Therefore, the act was significant in that it was a small step towards the economic interests of the West being seen and incorporated in the nation.
