Description:
Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes are massacred in Colorado by a group of volunteers under Colonel John Chivington. They were killed in order for the U.S. to gain control in the Great Plains. This event shows that the U.S. was did not care if the Natives were non violent and peaceful because their main goal was to acquire control of their land.
