Amber Heard broke down in tears moments after leaving the courthouse ... where she was granted a temporary restraining order against Johnny Depp.

Amber maintained a stone-faced demeanor as she walked out, but was visibly distraught and in tears once she got inside her waiting vehicle.

As we've reported ... Johnny now has to stay 100 yards away from Amber, at least until a hearing in June. Johnny's side says the domestic violence allegations are completely fabricated.
