Description:
Sputnik II set new standards in the Space Race, as this time it carried a heavier load. Within Sputnik II was a dog by the name of Laika, which was used as an experiment to see if the possibility of humans in space would be a feasibility. By having Laika in orbit, the Soviets achieved having the first animal ever in orbit.
