aug 26, 1917 - Kornilov Affair
Description:
Kerensky believed Kornilov was leading a coup aimed at unseating him, panicked and publicly blamed Kornilov for treason. Kornilov, as expected, was triggered by this false accusation as he was under the impression he'd been invited to take power. Kerensky then appealed to the Bolsheviks for help against a military putsch, arming them, but in the end. no military coup materialized.
