After the Y2K attacks, the British government is interested in having an advanced response team, patterned after the recently revealed American Avengers. Betsy Braddock uses her research to identify 150 British Armed Forces officers as viable candidates for the Braddock treatment. Joseph Chapman, Jacqueline Falsworth, Aiden Gillespie, and Theresa Cassidy are recruited by MI13 to undergo the first round of Braddock treatments.
