Description:
FNAF vr was a way to cover up the bad rep that the Fazbear franchise has gone through due to a rouge indie game developer (though all events are still canon).In the game you collect tapes that tells about how Afton possesses the game, as an accident that involved someone named Jeremy and a paper cutter, and finally Afton's escape through bringing the tapes together and possessing a reluctant follower named Vanny.
In the Christmas update it forshadows the Security breach game.
