Description:

This was the Union way to prove that the war was going to be short if they had won. They could've also captured the Confederate capital, Richmond, which would allow the secession to be discredited and restore the Union without damage to the economy or social system of the South. However, Confederate general Jackson led his troops against the Union's troops until unexpected reinforcements came. This lead to Union soldiers fleeing and the South taking the win.
