nov 17, 1877 - Essex Factor

Description:

Nathaniel Essex is the first to publish an article recognizing that the so-called "Inhuman condition" ran in certain families. In his study of Clan Akkaba members in London, he determined that women were more likely to be affected, and proposed that, under the principals of Mendelian inheritance, affected men and women could pass the trait to their children, even if the children appeared unaffected. He presents his theory of this Essex Factor to the Royal Society. His theory is soundly disregarded.
