In 1944, the allies decided to start trying to take over the German occupied Western Europe. They planned to launch an invasion on the beaches of Normandy in France. Canadian soldiers took over the beach in 75 days.Although many Canadian soldiers were killed in this battle, it was another victory for Canada , therefore there was progress.Added to timeline:
