apr 15, 340000000 BC - Amphibians arise
Description:
Amphibians break off from the rest of the tetrapods and colonize the marshy shorelines, which were able to exist now thanks to soil-stabilizing vascular plants. Though the fishier tetrapods may have ventured onto land individually, on isolated occasions, amphibians were probably the first to establish successful, long-term habitats there.
