After sending their dogs back to the US on board a private jet last week, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are following suit.
The couple were pictured arriving at Platinum Business Aviation Centre near Coolangatta Airport on the Gold Coast on Monday evening, pulling up in a black Range Rover.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star left the country as a federal investigation was launched to determine whether he should be prosecuted for not declaring Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo when he arrived in Australia on a private jet in April.
A senate hearing in Canberra on Monday heard the 51-year-old could be jailed for 10 years or be fined a maximum penalty of $340,000 for failing to declare the pets when he and Heard touched down in Brisbane, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The pilot of the aircraft could also face a maximum two-year prison sentence.
Members of the Department of Agriculture confirmed on Monday that the dogs were not visible when officers inspected the plane upon its landing in Australia.
The investigation will also aim to determine whether the pilot was aware the animals were on the jet.
At the senate committee meeting it also came to light how the dogs' presence in Australia became known to authorities.
