Description:

Roger Williams founded this providence after being banished from the bay colony. Rhode Island was the only English colony with total religious tolerance. It effected america because the religious toleration made the colony more liberal, allowing this colony to advance more than the other colonies. Another event that it could be compared to is the founding of Jamestown because many people want somewhere they they could be free to live how they like.
