La Marseillaise is the national anthem of France. It was written in 1792 by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle. In 1795 the French National Convention adopted it as the Republic National Anthem. The anthem was revolutionary song, an anthem of freedom that called the people of France to fight against tyranny and the corrupt monarchy.
La Marseillaise caused French Nationalism to become united as this anthem caused people to unite and become more proud about their country.
