A large punch bowl that was used to mix wine and water.
Legend of Niobe: Had 14 children who she bragged about and thus evoked the wrath of Leto whose son and daughter Apollo and Artemis murdered her whole family. Exhibits sense of stiffness. Is red figure painting, the bodies are part of the red clay with the silhouette of the black background. Severe style: When the archaic style began to become classic. Artist tried to give a sense of space. Other side shows the hero Heracles, identified by the lion skin and club. May be a translation of an extinct wall painting. May be a painting of a sculpture of Heracles, soldiers are asking for is protection before they go into battle. Made before Persian war. The 2 sides contrast a lot.
