nov 6, 1837 - Lower Canada Rebellions

Description:

Members of the Parti Patriote began to organize rallies, prepare for a rebellion, and even began to boycott British goods. British troops were sent down, and on November 16th, the government tried to arrest some leaders of the Parti. 800 Patriotes replied in an uprising and forced the British to retreat, winning the battle. But two days later, the British added 400 more soldiers and won during the battle of Saint-Charles. Most Patriotes were dead but the British imprisoned the rest and set fire to the surrounding farms.
