Description:
Originally meant to be a convenient platform for programmers developing software to be run on it and on other systems Unix became the basis for many subsequent operating systems such as the Apple OS Darwin. Now Unix is mostly used a basis for Linux operating systems but it has influenced the structuring and style of many other operating systems such as Windows 7.
