jan 3, 1965 - AlphaVille was released
AlphaVille was released to American audiences – this film featured one of the first negative depictions of technology through its sombre depictions of an AI, ‘Alpha 60’, dictating a society banning human behaviour (smiling, crying etc.) over rationality via maximum efficiency thus forming a brutal dictatorship. Such fears can be still seen within today’s popular media.
