COBOL an acronym for Common Business-Oriented Language was made by a team from several computer manufactures and the Pentagon.
Aimed to be easily read by the computer and be machine independent as possible
Howard Bromberg the founder believed that COBOL had no future, yet COBOL survives to this day.
