Description:
In the 1930s, Spain entered civil war with the Republicans and the Fascists, with General Franco of the Fascists winning. Spain then entered a brutal military dictatorship until 1975, when Franco died of old age. In late 1978, the Constitution of Spain was approved in a referendum, making Spain a constitutional monarchy, for the first time since 1931.
