By 1978, opposing political parties in Jamaica were in a civil war-like situation. To solve this, the One Love Peace Concert was set up in Kingston. The peak of the event came when Bob Marley, lead singer of the Wailers, joined hands between the leaders of the two opposing parties. This event somewhat ended the political civil war in Jamaica.
