Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp has drafted Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Patti Smith, Courtney Love, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, and more for an upcoming compilation album featuring covers of traditional pirate songs. The two-disc collection, Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, is a sequel to 2006’s Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, which Depp put together with record producer Hal Willner and Pirates director Gore Verbinski. That first foray into sea fare included salty cuts from Lou Reed, Sting, Lucinda Williams, actor John C. Reilly, and more. Next year’s entry will wash ashore on February 19 via ANTI-, which also released the original Rogue’s Gallery.

The 36-song LP includes some spirited pairings: Depp with Patti Smith; a duet from Michael Stipe and Courtney Love; Tom Waits teaming with Keith Richards; and Iggy Pop backed by A Hawk and a Hacksaw.
