mar 13, 1920 - Kapp Putsch

Description:

The Kapp Putsch was a military coup by the Freikorps, attempting to overthrow the Weimar government.
They rebelled in Berlin, taking the city with little opposition and ,as they were mostly ex-soldiers, the army refused to engage them in combat despite Ebert's orders.
They were only stopped due to the city of Berlin participating in a general strike issued by Ebert and as such Berlin came to a halt - showing the rebels that they couldn't effectively take control.
There was very little punishment for the rebels although the leaders were imprisoned (Kapp died awaiting trial).
Revolts elsewhere occurred also and in some places strikes turned violent.
