Many of the Colonists disliked the fact that they had many taxes imposed on them to help pay off British war debt. On March 5, 1770, British soldiers arrived in Boston and were greeted by an angry mob of colonists. Then a small "war" took place which killed 5 people. This helped to galvanize the colonists to the Patriotic cause.Added to timeline:
