Isaac Watts, one of the most known and first hymn writers of all time, was born. (July 17, 1674 - November 25, 1748) He is credited with around 750 hymns and is recognized as the "Father of English Hymnody." A few of his most famous hymns today are "O God, Our Help in Ages Past," "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," and "Joy to the World." Attached is a recent version of "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross."
