jul 1, 1971 - 26th Amendment

Description:

The 26th Amendment famous for the "Old Enough to Fight, Old Enough to Vote" saying. This began during WWII and intensified during the Vietnam War. President Franklin D. Roosevelt lowered the voting age to 18 when it was originally 21. They felt if they were old enough to fight for their country and be put in danger then they should be able to vote. Once this Amendment was ratified it finally gave them a say.
