On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was shot in the head by John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate sympathizer. The event took place at Ford’s Theater in Washington DC. Lincoln was pronounced dead the morning of the 15th. Booth became a criminal who was known nationwide. He was eventually caught and killed on April 26.Added to timeline:
