Elias Howe was an american who invented the sewing machine in 1846. This invention revolutionized the world as the time it took to make shirts was cut from 14 hours and 26 minutes to 1 hour and 16 minutes. Not only did this drastically cut the time it took to make clothes but it also made clothes much cheaper as an effect of this new proficiency. As the sewing machines popularity grew, women began to have more time on their hands to focus on things like working, changing the world, on woman who took this upon herself was Susan B Anthony.Added to timeline:
