Shiva is the destroyer, ends things in order to begin the cycle anew.
Incorporates Shilpa Shastras which made things certain lengths and shapes. Eyes were shaped like almonds, arms long like stalks of bamboo, and faces round like the moon. Shastras were primers on physical beauty and perfection.
The fire around Shiva symbolizes the moment in which everything ends and begins.
The drum in Shiva’s hand symbolizes the passage of time and the act of creation.
Lower right hand= Be supplicant
Lower left hand = Spiritual grace and fulfillment
Upper left hand = Fire of destruction
