Description:

The central deity of this temple which is located in the womb of the temple or the garba griba, is Vishnu. The area where he is in has no windows and is in the center of the temple because it was meant to be a sacred place where one could have an intimate relationship with the gods. Had many depictions of sexual acts, wasn’t erotic but was sacred. People also circumambulated around the temple, the elephant god Ganesha shows where one should start when circumambulating. Made out of sandstone in Khajuraho, India.
