Macarthur returns to the Philippines just like he vowed at the battle of Leyte Gulf. After the invasion of New Guinea, Macarthur's next step was putting all his energy towards the Philippines. With the support of the Nimitz Pacific fleet. Their forces invaded the main Philippine island, Luzon and then to Bataan where Allied troops were kept hostage and abused. Macarthur made a radio Broadcast on the island announcing his return. Japanese had various resistances around the islands which continued to the end of the war. This return of Macarthur was great for the US military's moral and made Macartther an important player in world war two.
