Description:
Uruk, (Modern Iraq)
• Temple constructed on a ziggurat (mound/base)
• Most likely dedicated to sun god Anu
• Can be seen from miles away because it is raised
• White washed and corners align with cardinal
• Interior has tripartite plan three entrances, entered on a bent axis to view altar
• After entering you walk around before you get to the altar, circumambulation
• Stairs, doors, chambers and shelving
• Bones of lions and leopards were found
• Some type of sacrifice
