Forum is à civic space. Found in any roman city. À long tradition of forums. Julius Caesar starts a new tradition of building secondary/new forums to show political power. Trajan had his architect remove the hill so that the forum could be buitl. Trajans Forum is almost the size of all the imperial forums put together. At the top of the extravagant entrance there was possibly à sculpture of the emperor Trajan with six horses followed by the goddess of victory. In the center of the space of the forum there was an equestrian sculpture of Trajan. Straight ahead theough this space was the largest Basilica in Rome, the basilica ulpia. This was an area filled with sculpture and reliefs commemorating emperors, politicians. À lot of colored marble. Ulpia was Trajans family name. Columns of trajan stands in the center, between the two libraries, and behind the ulpia and is covered in reliefs of the story of trajans great military explaits and victories. Shows his enemies, the daicians, as very formidable and worthy enemies and opponents. Several sculptures of romans defeating the daicians everywhere. Now at the top of the column there's à sculpture of saint peter, but originally it was à sculpture of Trajan. Romans make nature subservient to mans will.
