jan 1, 1830 - Indian Removal Act
Description:
The United States was displacing Indians in order to expand their territory. This act made it so that the American Government can claim Indian-owned land for their own personal benefit. The Indians adopted the strategy of appeasement so that they would be able to keep some of their lands that they deemed most precious. However, they gave up most of their lands for little in return.
