Description:

At 1215, the three platoons of B Company that were partolling the jungle were fired at. These were the first shots to be fired at the Battle of Ia Drang. Around five minutes later, Captain John Herren ordered his 1st and 2nd platoon to move forward abreast of each other and the 3rd platoon to follow as a reserve unit.
